He has a Listed winner with a dam by DANEHILL and is proving an excellent match for mares by sons of Danehill, notably DANEHILL DANCER . He has 4 SWs from 21 foals (19%), including Gr.1 winner Loving Dream and Gr.2 winners Insinuendo and Royal Dornoch. He sired the Gr.2 2YO winner Velocidad from a DANSILI mare, and 3 SWs from only 6 foals out of ORATORIO mares, and Japanese 2YO Gr.3 winner Shock Action from a FASTNET ROCK mare. His Gr.2-placed 2YO Maritime Wings has a dam by Dansili’s son ZOFFANY . The GREEN DESERT branch has plenty to offer any son of Galileo. Mares by INVINCIBLE SPIRIT will reinforce Gleneagles’ 2YO ability, as was demonstrated when Southern Hills won the Windsor Castle Stakes at Royal Ascot. He also sired Gr.2 winner Baby Rider from a daughter of OASIS DREAM . Daughters of ANABAA have a compelling record with Galileo and his sons. Galileo has eight Group winners from them, including Gr.1 winners Bolshoi Ballet, Lush Lashes and Capri. Gleneagles became his fourth son to sire a SW from them when Royal Lytham won the Gr.2 July Stakes. Gleneagles’ only foal out of a GRAND LODGE mare is the Group-placed Precious Moments. Teofilo, another son of Galileo, sired Irish Classic winners from mares by GRAND LODGE and his son SINNDAR . Gleneagles has important winners closely inbred to SADLER’S WELLS . His Gr.1 winner Loving Dream is inbred 3x3, as is his Gr.2-placed son Highland Chief (out of a MONTJEU mare). Gr.2 winner Insinuendo is inbred 3x4, the second line coming via ENTREPRENEUR . Galileo has also enjoyed excellent results with the NUREYEV line, notably siring 11 Group winners from PIVOTAL mares. Frankel is also shaping up very well with PIVOTAL mares, with four Gr.1 winners. The last two create 3x4 inbreeding to the parents of Giant’s Causeway. Two of Gleneagles’ good 2YO winners, Seisai and Southern Hills, have grandams by KING’S BEST . His Group-placed daughter Silence Please has a dam by MACHIAVELLIAN . Four other sons of Galileo have Group winners out of DUBAWI mares including Frankel’s Derby winner Adayar. Gleneagles’ speed could be reinforced by mares with AHONOORA blood, and his Gr.3-winning 2yo Shock Action has a second dam by INDIAN RIDGE . Galileo has three Group winners, including a classic winner, from mares by INDIAN RIDGE , and both Galileo and Frankel have Gr.1 winners from INCHINOR mares. Gleneagles has ROBERTO in his fourth generation, so there is again plenty of scope for a second line of this stallion whose descendants have done so well with Galileo. He already has Group-placed performers out of daughters of LEAR FAN , DR FONG and INTIKHAB , while ROBERTO and RED RANSOM sired the second dams of two of his black-type winners.
