Low Emission Slurry Spreading The recycling of organic manures returns nutrients to the soil that have been removed during hay and silage production. The slurry tanker is equipped with a John Deere Harvest lab. The lab uses technology that analyses the nutrient contents of the slurry, providing data that aid in the nutrient management planning of the farm and improving soil fertility. Coolmore employ a Low Emission Slurry Spreading (LESS) system by way of a trailing shoe, keeping air pollutants such as ammonia to a minimum. Coolmore observe buffer zones adjacent to water courses and drains to prevent water contamination from the application of both organic and chemical fertilisers.
