Several of his Group winners are out of mares from the SADLER’S WELLS line. Even Song has a dam by SADLER’S WELLS , while ENTREPRENEUR sired the dam of The Grey Gatsby and HIGH CHAPARRAL the dam of A Raving Beauty. Other stakes winners have dams by IN THE WINGS , SINGSPIEL and HURRICANE RUN . This ties in with the record of Mastercraftsman’s sire Danehill Dancer, who sired Group winners from mares by SADLER’S WELLS and by six of his sons, including MONTJEU (the top-class filly Legatissimo), IN THE WINGS (Gr.1 winner Ave and Gr.2 winner Lost In The Moment) and GALILEO . MONTJEU mares should make their mark with Mastercraftsman (he has Gr.2 and Gr.3 southern hemisphere winners out of them). It is significant that Kingston Hill is out of a RAINBOW QUEST mare, as is Mastercraftsman’s Group-placed son Restorer. Mastercraftsman’s outstanding daughter Alpha Centauri has a dam by RAHY and his Gr.3 winner Dessertoflife has a dam by Rainbow Quest’s son SPECTRUM . Mastercraftsman clearly merits more mares with BLUSHING GROOM blood. The STORM CAT line is important to Mastercraftsman. He has sired the dual Gr.1 winner Amazing Maria and a Listed winner from daughters of TALE OF THE CAT , plus the Gr.3 winner Craftsman from a FOREST WILDCAT mare. He has sired the classic-placed Wind Chimes from a mare by JOHANNESBURG . This suggests that SCAT DADDY mares will work too. Danehill Dancer has Gr.2 and Gr.3 winners inbred 3x3 to SHARPEN UP and others inbred 3x4 to him, so Mastercraftsman is a likeable option for mares from this line. He already has a Gr.3 winner inbred 4x4. He has a very useful French filly with a dam by KINGMAMBO and a top-class son with a KINGMAMBO second dam. Five of Mastercraftsman’s Group winners have dams sired by grandsons of MR PROSPECTOR . Mares by DUBAWI and DUTCH ART could reinforce Mastercraftsman’s juvenile ability. Danehill Dancer sired a classic winner from a mare by INDIAN RIDGE . Three of his other stallion sons have sired Group winners from this line, from daughters of INDIAN RIDGE , NAMID and COMPTON PLACE . Mastercraftsman has a Gr.3 winner out of a CAERLEON mare. His sire Danehill Dancer did particularly well with the NIJINSKY branch, which supplied him with two of his classic winners – Speciosa and Again. The Danehill male line has some smart performers inbred either 2x3 or 3x3 to DANEHILL . The Gr.3 winner Ladies Are Forever and Gr.1 sprinter Hoof It are by a son of Danehill Dancer out of a daughter of DANETIME , whereas Choisir’s Hong Kong Derby winner Luger is out of a DANZERO mare. There are also several smart performers inbred to the great DANZIG , with GREEN DESERT on their dams’ side. Danehill Dancer’s smart performers inbred 3x4 to DANZIG included a Gr.1 two-year-old winner. Mastercraftsman already has a Group-placed performer with a dam by OASIS DREAM and he has a New Zealand Gr.1 winner and a British Gr.3 winner with second dams by GREEN DESERT . Danehill Dancer had talented performers out of daughters of LEAR FAN and SILVER HAWK , so ROBERTO line mares are an option for Mastercraftsman, whose female line produced a top-class colt to Roberto. He has two Listed winners from 11 foals out of RED RANSOM mares. Mastercraftsman already has Group-placed performers out of daughters of SHIRLEY HEIGHTS and DARSHAAN , and two of his Group winners have DARSHAAN second dams. Danehill Dancer’s accomplished daughter Lillie Langtry is out of a DARSHAAN mare and Choisir’s Gr.1 winner Olympic Glory has a second dam by SHIRLEY HEIGHTS . Mastercraftsman’s first foal out of a KENDOR mare got black type, his Gr.3 winner Neufbosc has a dam by VERGLAS .
