After being a runaway winner of 2015’s first-crop sires’ championship, Zoffany also headed the second-crop sires in 2016. His fourth crop has confirmed his ability to sire smart 2yos, with seven Group or Listed winners in 2018. It is important to remember that his first three crops were sired at €7,500 and his fourth at €12,500. Although a member of the DANZIG male line, Zoffany owes much of his success to mares from this male line. His Gr.2-winning daughter Illuminate has a dam by GREEN DESERT and his Gr.2 winner Foundation has a dam by POLISH PRECEDENT . Another son, the Gr.1 sprinter Washington D C, is inbred 4x4 and the Gr.1-placed Afandem is out of an ANABAA mare. Zoffany’s sire Dansili also has some very good winners inbred to DANZIG , including the Gr.1 winner Giofra, the high-class Bated Breath and dual American Gr.1 winner Laughing (all inbred 3x4). Zoffany’s good winners with 3x3 inbreeding to DANEHILL include the Gr.3 winner Dolce Strega out of an ORATORIO mare, the Listed winner Dolphin Vista out of a MOZART mare and the Listed winner Hot Team, with a DANEHILL second dam. DANEHILL DANCER is also the broodmare sire of a Listed winner by Zoffany. Dansili now has 14 stakes winners out of daughters of Sadler’s Wells. Zoffany’s Group-placed daughter Asking has a dam by SADLER’S WELLS and SADLER’S WELLS sired the second dams of the Oaks and Irish Oaks second Architecture and two of Zoffany’s Listed winners. Now Zoffany has sired the 2018 Gr.2 2yo winner Fleeting from a mare by MOTIVATOR , a son of MONTJEU . NUREYEV also demands serious consideration. Zoffany has made a bright start with PIVOTAL , siring the Irish Listed winner Argentero. FASLIYEV mares are another option, as Zoffany sired the classic-placed Architecture from one. Zoffany has Group success with WOODMAN (the smart 2yo Main Edition). His good daughter Illuminate is inbred 3x3 to MACHIAVELLIAN , while his Gr.2 winner Knife Edge and southern hemisphere Gr.1 winner Zodiac Ruler are inbred 4x4 to MR PROSPECTOR . The classic-placed Architecture is out of a mare inbred 3x3 to MR PROSPECTOR . Zoffany is inbred 5x4 to BLUSHING GROOM , but there is every chance that he will benefit from more Blushing Groom. Zoffany’s Group-placed Listed winner Light Up Our World is out of a mare by RAHY’s son FANTASTIC LIGHT and his Gr.3 winner Dolce Strega has a second dam by RAINBOW QUEST . Dansili has excelled with RAHY mares, siring six stakes winners from nine foals. He also had three Group winners from RAINBOW QUEST mares. Dansili has smart performers out of daughters of DIESIS , SANGLAMORE , KRIS and SELKIRK . Zoffany owes his Gr.2 Norfolk Stakes winner Waterloo Bridge to a DR FONG mare, which puts other ROBERTO line mares into the picture.

EFISIO mares are responsible for two of Dansili’s Gr.2 winners, including the 2,000 Guineas second Delegator, and another produced a Gr.3 winner to Dansili’s son Rail Link. The AHONOORA line traditionally does well with Danehill and his sons and Dansili has Group-winning daughters out of mares by INDIAN RIDGE , INCHINOR and STATOBLEST .
