Firstly Vincent O’Brien, and now his unrelated namesake Aidan O’Brien, have sent out horses from this tranquil setting to win all the major races in Europe, the USA and beyond. Tom Magnier’s grandfather, Dr Vincent O’Brien, and Aidan O’Brien have both become Irish sporting legends. Irish racing is hugely successful internationally and Ballydoyle has been central to that success over the past 60 years. Every year the finest sales yearlings and homebred horses are selected to race for Coolmore. Only a very select few of those make it all the way to the Coolmore stallion roster.
