First and foremost, I must thank all our clients and friends for their continued support of Coolmore and our stallions over the past 12 months. While we have said it many times before, your success really is our success and there is nothing that gives us more pleasure than following your achievements in the sale ring and on the track. Despite a global pandemic, records were broken throughout the sale rings of Australia and racing has continued to go from strength to strength. We count ourselves extremely lucky to operate in such a strong and robust industry. The roster of stallions on offer to Australasian breeders in 2021 is the culmination of a lot of hard work, over many years. It is particularly exciting to welcome Wootton Bassett , the rising star of the European stallion ranks, to Coolmore Australia. We believe that this Group 1-winning Champion 2YO and proven Group 1 sire can make a significant impact on the Australian racing and breeding industry. He will be joined by fellow international superstars like US Triple Crown winners Justify and American Pharoah , 2,000 Guineas winners Churchill , Saxon Warrior and Magna Grecia as well as Royal Ascot-winning speedster Calyx . Our international stars will join an outstanding collection of some of the strongest sires and best sire prospects in the country. Following yet another incredible year on the track, Fastnet Rock once again leads the way. He is unquestionably one of the most influential Australian- bred sires of all-time and he is showing no signs of slowing down, with arguably his strongest ever two-year- old crop in the 2020/21 season. His best-credentialed son, Merchant Navy had his first crop yearlings presented to the market in 2021 and it is very encouraging to see them enter all the best stables in the country.

The most accomplished two-year-old of his generation, King’s Legacy is another very welcome addition to the roster. The only multiple Group 1-winning juvenile by sire of sires Redoute’s Choice, King’s Legacy is from the fabled family of Not A Single Doubt and Snippets. Blessed with an incredible physique, he realised $1,400,000 as a yearling - there is no denying he has all the credentials for sire success. Record-breaking winner of The Everest, Yes Yes Yes covered an outstanding book of mares in his first season and was supported by some of Australasia’s best breeders, giving him every chance to succeed at stud. His first foals this spring are eagerly awaited. Given the dominance of Danehill and his sons over the last two decades in Australia, it is extremely satisfying to have two of Australia’s best outcross options in Pierro and So You Think who continue to produce elite horses with Danehill-line mares. They have both firmly established themselves as two of the best sires in Australia and are open to significant further improvement, with big crops of well-bred stock coming through. Looking forward to the 2021 breeding season, please do not hesitate to get in touch with any member of the sales team at Coolmore Australia for assistance with your mating plans. We wish you all the best in your racing and breeding endeavours.

Good Land & Great Horses. Our land at Jerrys Plains in New South Wales, has a long association with horses going back to the 1820s when its owner George Bowman stood a sire called Pegasus at a fee of 5 guineas, “payable in cash or good clean wheat.” In the early part of the twentieth century the Moses brothers, William and Frederick, stood or bred outstanding thoroughbreds such as 1920 Melbourne Cup winner Poitrel , Champion racehorse and sire Heroic and high-class galloper Manfred , as well as St Alwyne , Valais , Nightwatch and Valicare . Since 1996 Coolmore Australia has been home to multiple Champion sires such as the ubiquitous Danehill , Encosta de Lago and Fastnet Rock . There has also been 61 Gr.1-winning graduates of Coolmore Australia including the aforementioned Champion sire Fastnet Rock and the 25-time Group 1-winning World Champion Winx .

2020/21 has been another successful season for horses raised on our farm. Avantage , Quick Thinker , September Run , Persan , Parure , Love Tap , Laverrod , Packing Rockstar and Chequerboard were just some of them, while our exciting juvenile crop includes Acrobat , Head Of State , Saif etc.

Award-winning Angus cattle play an important role in the pasture management at Coolmore in Jerrys Plains.

Time To Strike. A supremely gifted athlete, he was Champion 2YO before becoming the first American Triple Crown winner in 37 years. And his sign off in the Breeders’ Cup saw him produce yet another tour de force scoring by an effortless 6½ lengths. The early stages of his stud career are equally impressive, with him crowned both Champion First Crop Sire and Champion Second Crop Sire in North America. He has already sired Gr.1 winners in Europe, the USA and Japan while his juveniles have won Group races starting at 1000m. There are more Gr.1 prospects amongst his first Australian crop. And when they hit, his fee is going only one way, so now is your time to strike!

His first foals in Europe are first-class

By Gr.1-winning sprinter and Champion 2YO sire INVINCIBLE SPIRIT whose best sons at stud include the outstanding young European sire KINGMAN (2021 fee £150,000/$265,000) and the Australian sensation I AM INVINCIBLE (2021 fee $220,000). His dam is a Group-winning 2YO and she has also produced 2020 European Champion 2YO and 2021 French 2,000 Guineas-Gr.1 winner ST MARK’S BASILICA . Out of a GALILEO mare like NIGHT OF THUNDER and THE AUTUMN SUN . Value Sires: First Foals … Magna Grecia was a Group 1 winner at two and three. His class was apparent early as a 340,000gns foal purchase by Coolmore, and it didn't take him long to display that class on the racecourse for the partnership of Coolmore and the Niarchos Family; he won the G1 Vertem Futurity Trophy at two over the subsequent Irish 2000 Guineas winner Phoenix Of Spain, and followed up with a 2 ½ length score in the G1 2000 Guineas on seasonal debut. It will certainly help Magna Grecia's chances, too, that he is a son of sire of sires Invincible Spirit, and his half-brother St Mark's Basilica gave the pedigree a major boost last year when winning the G1 Dewhurst Stakes.
