The shuttle effect. Australia has become a melting pot of sire lines and pedigrees from across the globe. The introduction of shuttle stallions rapidly improved the Australian breed to a world-class level which now attracts an international buying bench to the yearling sales. A look at the current sire table reveals that 18 of the top 20 sires are either shuttlers themselves, or sons or grandsons of shuttlers, the only exceptions being the mighty Pierro and his sire.
