2017
Champion 2YO & Triple Crown winner AMERICAN PHAROAH ~ NEW ~
First and foremost, I must thank all our clients and friends for their continued support of the farm and our stallions over the last 12 months. Your success on the track and in the sales ring is something that gives us great satisfaction. In 2017 we have the honour of introducing two of the finest stallion prospects to ever travel ‘down under’. American Pharoah, a Champion two- year-old and the first Triple Crown winner in 37 years, will go down in history as one of the best racehorses of all-time. We are also thrilled to offer European Champion two-year-old Air Force Blue to breeders here. His standing as the highest-rated two-year-old from the Danzig sire line has us very excited about his future as a sire. Only a year ago we were incredibly proud to welcome two Coolmore Australia graduates to our stallion roster. Both Vancouver and Pride Of Dubai covered outstanding first books and were supported by many of Australia’s best breeders. Other graduates of the farm have continued on their winning ways, highlighted by the great Winx and her 17 straight victories. Fastnet Rock has enjoyed tremendous success with his two-year-olds this season, well and truly cementing himself as one of the most influential sires in recent history, his daughter Catchy becoming his 4th Group 1-winning juvenile since the start of 2016 in the Blue Diamond Stakes. As I write, Pierro and So You ink are Australia’s leading first and second season sires respectively, and look likely to be extremely significant sires of the future. In March So You ink’s son Inference became the 48th Group 1-winning graduate of Coolmore Australia since 1996 when winning the Randwick Guineas. Finally, I would like to encourage you to contact one of our team to organise a visit to Coolmore. We would be only too happy to welcome you!

The land now farmed by Coolmore Australia at Jerrys Plains, New South Wales, has a long association with horses going back to the 1820’s when its owner George Bowman had a sire called Pegasus. In the 1890’s the Ellis family stood a top Clydesdale stallion by the name of Gallant Scotchman. Then in the early part of the twentieth century the Moses brothers, William and Frederick, stood or bred the outstanding thoroughbreds St Alwyne, Valais, Nightwatch, Poitrel, Heroic, Manfred and Valicare.

Great horses start with good land. And at Coolmore Australia we take great care of both. Every horse - all the way through the foaling, rearing, weaning and breaking in processes - is treated as if it could be the next champion. It’s a system that has resulted in 23 individual Group winners since the start of 2016 namely winx , Catchy , inference , awesome rock , Mac De Lago , heroic Valour , Japonisme , rangipo , tulip , Dawn wall , formality , Supreme Profit , omei Sword , Man from uncle , Enaad , Ektifaa , Mongolian falcon , Miss rose De Lago , Comin ’ through , Badawiya , Stampede , ilitshe and rageese . from here It all starts
