Kentucky Derby winner Authentic has a dam by GONE WEST’s son MR GREELEY , while the Gr.1 winners Mia Mischief and Mischevious Alex are out of other grand-daughters of GONE WEST . Into Mischief’s 17 foals out of SPEIGHTSTOWN mares include a highly impressive 29% black-type winners. Into Mischief also has black-type winners out of mares by GONE WEST’s sons ELUSIVE QUALITY , GRAND SLAM and PROUD CITIZEN . Mares by SPEIGHTSTOWN look ready-made for Mendelssohn, while mares by MR GREELEY and ELUSIVE QUALITY should also work well. Scat Daddy sired Graded winners from mares by SMART STRIKE and his son CURLIN . Scat Daddy’s son No Nay Never has two Gr.2 winners out of a mare by Smart Strike’s son ENGLISH CHANNEL . STREET CRY is broodmare sire of two Gr.1 winners by Scat Daddy. Both Mendelssohn’s sire Scat Daddy and his half-brother Into Mischief enjoyed success with the UNBRIDLED branch. Scat Daddy sired Graded winners from mares by UNBRIDLED’s sons EMPIRE MAKER and UNBRIDLED’S SONG , with EMPIRE MAKER mares having 20% SWs with Scat Daddy. Scat Daddy also had Graded winners from mares by UNBRIDLED’S SONG’s sons BUDDHA , SONGANDAPRAYER , FIRST DEFENCE and ROCKPORT HARBOR . This bodes well for mares by BROKEN VOW , PIONEEROF THE NILE and BODEMEISTER . The UNBRIDLED branch has provided Into Mischief with plenty of SWs, notably the very talented Covfefe. There are also SWs out of daughters of UNBRIDLED , EMPIRE MAKER and UNBRIDLED’S SONG , with Empire Maker being the sire of the dam of the high-class Mandaloun. Into Mischief also has a fine record with mares by SONGANDAPRAYER , notably siring Gr.2 winner Maximus Mischief. Into Mischief with mares by CANDY RIDE has sired four black-type horses from 18 foals. Scat Daddy sired Gr.1 winners from SEATTLE SLEW line mares. TAPIT’s daughters produced 43% SWs to Scat Daddy and they have also made a promising start with Into Mischief, producing a Listed winner and three Graded stakes performers. Into Mischief is also shining with BERNARDINI mares, with two Gr.3 winners from 16 foals. Scat Daddy owes two Gr.1 winners to DANZIG line mares. His son No Nay Never is excelling with mares descending from DANZIG , including HARD SPUN , so this should also work with Mendelssohn. The great Justify is from a mare by GHOSTZAPPER and Scat Daddy also has two good performers out of mares by AWESOME AGAIN . This suggests that Mendelssohn should be tried with mares with DEPUTY MINISTER blood. Scat Daddy’s exceptionally fast daughter Lady Aurelia is inbred 4x3 to STORM CAT

so there is ample scope for more STORM CAT blood with Mendelssohn. His highest-priced first crop yearling, at $900,000, has Storm Cat’s grandson DISCREET CAT as her broodmare sire. UNCLE MO mares are worth trying as Into Mischief has Gr.1 and Gr.2 winners with dams by INDIAN CHARLIE .

Mares by CHEROKEE RUN and his son KAFWAIN have had Graded success with Into Mischief, KAFWAIN being the broodmare sire of Gr.1 winner Gamine.
