MATING SUGGESTIONS: Nyquist, Laoban and Outwork, all from Uncle Mo’s first crop have all enjoyed Gr.1 success at stud. Mo Town too is proving his credentials with three GSWs in his first crop. Together with Outwork and Nyquist, Mo Town ranks among Uncle Mo’s eight Gr.1-winning sons. Following his seven-length victory over a mile at Belmont, Mo Town decisively landed the Gr.2 Remsen Stakes. The quality of his performances was recognised with an Experimental Free Handicap weight of 118. Although Mo Town’s juvenile victories were gained on dirt, he developed into a leading turf performer at three, taking the Gr.1 Hollywood Derby from Channel Maker. Even though he did so well on turf, Mo Town has the pedigree of a dirt performer. His second dam, Molto Vita, was a dirt Gr.3 winner at Keeneland. The next dam, Princess Polonia, was a dirt Gr.3 winner by the great Danzig. This is the female line responsible for RAISE A NATIVE . Uncle Mo has thrived with MR PROSPECTOR line mares and Mo Town has quickly shown that he too suits this line. His Gr.3 winner Mo Stash has a dam by SMART STRIKE and his Listed winner Molly’s Town has a dam by SMART STRIKE’s son CURLIN . Uncle Mo’s son Nyquist has a Gr.1 winner to a grand-daughter of SMART STRIKE . GULCH sired the 2nd dam of Mo Town’s Gr.3 winner Accidental Hero. The GONE WEST branch provided Uncle Mo with Gr.1 winner Gomo and Graded winners Laoban and Souper Hoity Toity. UNBRIDLED is the broodmare sire of Gr.1 winner Unbridled Mo, while his sons EMPIRE MAKER , UNBRIDLED’S SONG and UNTUTTABLE all rank among the broodmare sires of Uncle Mo’s other Graded winners. His Gr.1 winner Outwork has a dam by EMPIRE MAKER , while another Gr.1 winner A Mo Reay has a dam by EMPIRE MAKER’s son PIONEEROF THE NILE . Kentucky Derby winner Nyquist is one of five Gr.1 winners with a Mr Prospector line mare as his second dam. Uncle Mo’s foals out of AFLEET ALEX mares feature the Gr.1 winner Dream Tree. Mo Town has already followed Uncle Mo’s example by doing well with the STORM CAT line. His Gr.3 winner Accidental Hero has a grand-daughter of FOREST WILDCAT as his dam, while his Gr.2 winner Key of Life is out of a HARLAN’S HOLIDAY mare. Uncle Mo quickly proved himself with the STORM CAT line, siring the top-class Nyquist from a daughter of FORESTRY as well as Gr.3 winners from daughters of STORM CAT , GIANT’S CAUSEWAY , BLUEGRASS CAT and TALE OF THE CAT . There are also Graded winners out of mares by three sons of GIANT’S CAUSEWAY . Mo Town should do well with mares by all the successful stallions from the A.P. Indy-Mr Prospector cross, such as PULPIT , MINESHAFT , FLATTER and CONGRATS . Daughters of TAPIT are worth considering now that Uncle Mo has sired the Gr.2 winner Kingsbarns from one. Of Uncle Mo’s Gr.1 winners, Yaupon is out of a mare by VINDICATION , while Mo Donegal, Arabian Knight and Mo Town all have dams by sons of A.P. INDY – PULPIT , ASTROLOGY and BERNARDINI respectively. BERNARDINI mares are responsible for two Gr.2 winners. Uncle Mo also has GSWs out of mares by A.P. INDY’s sons MALIBU MOON and MINESHAFT . Uncle Mo’s son Nyquist owes two of his Gr.1 winners to grand-daughters of A.P. INDY . Outwork owes his 2023 2YO Gr.1 winner Brightwork to a MALIBU MOON mare. A third Uncle Mo son, Laoban, sired a Gr.2 winner from an A.P. INDY mare. Uncle Mo has sired Gr.1 or Gr.2 Graded winners from mares by DIXIELAND BAND , by NUREYEV’s son UNUSUAL HEAT and by DANZIG’s son WAR FRONT . Uncle Mo has Stakes winners out of daughters of DEPUTY MINISTER , FRENCH DEPUTY and DEFRERE . 51
