MATING SUGGESTIONS: A Champion at two and three, in addition to winning the Triple Crown and becoming Horse of the Year, American Pharoah showed all the talent, versatility, durability and courage which entitle him to considerable respect as a stallion. He quickly proved his worth when he earned the title of Champion First-Crop Sire and, with five crops of racing age, he ranks sixth on the Leading Sires table in 2023 (to early November). American Pharoah’s bloodlines make him a particularly valuable outcross. Mr Prospector is back in the sixth generation of his foals and his pedigree is free of A.P. INDY , SEATTLE SLEW , DANZIG , SADLER’S WELLS , DEPUTY MINISTER , ROBERTO and HALO . Even STORM CAT is in the fourth generation of his foals and FAPPIANO in the fifth, allowing second lines. His Gr.1-winning half-sister Chasing Yesterday is by TAPIT , so it is hardly surprising that daughters of TAPIT are playing a part in his success story. Eight of his first nine starters out of TAPIT mares are winners, including Gr.1 winner Harvey’s Lil Goil, 2023 Gr.2 winner Window Shopping and Japanese Listed winner Reframe. American Pharoah also has Stakes winners out of mares by A.P. Indy’s sons FLATTER , A.P. WARRIOR and MINESHAFT . Daughters of BERNARDINI have 13% SWs with Pioneerof The Nile, including Gr.1 winner Matareya. American Pharoah’s 2023 Gr.3 winner Promiseher America is out of an UNBRIDLED’S SONG mare and is therefore inbred 4x3 to UNBRIDLED . American Pharoah’s first GSW, the speedy Maven, was out of a grand-daughter of DISTORTED HUMOR , while his smart Japanese dirt horse Danon Pharaoh is out of a grand-daughter of MR. GREELEY . He also has the Gr.2 winner Forbidden Kingdom out of a grand-daughter of CARSON CITY . American Pharoah when mated with a SADLER’S WELLS mare produced the Gr.1 2YO winner Van Gogh. American Pharoah’s first 19 starters out of GALILEO mares include Gr.1 winner Above The Curve and Gr.2 winner Pista. He also hit the Gr.1 target with MEDAGLIA D’ORO mares, thanks to 2023 New York S. winner Marketsegmentation. More mares by GALILEO , EL PRADO , MEDAGLIA D’ORO and KITTEN’S JOY are called for. American Pharoah is successful with the HAIL TO REASON line siring the Gr.2 winner Four Wheel Drive and the Japanese Gr.1 dirt winner Café Pharoah from daughters of MORE THAN READY . Mares by sons of Storm Cat create only 4x3 to STORM CAT . GIANT’S CAUSEWAY is broodmare sire of American Pharoah’s Gr.1-placed son Pioneering Spirit and his Grade 1 performer Ocean Atlantique, while his Gr.2 winner Sweet Melania has a dam by STORM CAT’s grandson DISCREET CAT and is therefore inbred 4x4, as are the Gr.3 winners Promiseher America and Turned Aside. His Gr.1 Breeders’ Cup runner-up Jody’s Pride has a dam by SCAT DADDY and a grandam by SPEIGHTSTOWN making her inbred 4x5x5 to STORM CAT . The Gr.1 winner Marketsegmentation and Gr.2 winner Pista have second dams by STORM CAT and are therefore inbred 4x3. His Gr.1 winner As Time Goes By has a dam by DEHERE and his Listed winner Fi Fi Pharoah is out of a GHOSTZAPPER mare, making the DEPUTY MINISTER line a worthy option. American Pharoah could thrive with DANZIG line mares. His speedy son Turned Aside has a dam by WAR FRONT . 9

Unbeaten Champion 2YO by QUALITY ROAD . Won Breeders’ Cup Juvenile-Gr.1 & American Pharoah S.-Gr.1 . Height: 16.0 I Won from 5½f. to 1 1 / 16 m.

❝ In capping a three-race undefeated season with a clear victory in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile (G1), the son of multiple Grade 1 winner Quality Road earned the 2021 Eclipse Award as champion 2-year-old male. ❞

MATING SUGGESTIONS: When the votes were tallied for the 2021 Eclipse Award for 2-year-old male, Corniche was declared a runaway winner, with 214 votes compared to 12 for his nearest rival. This wide margin of success reflected the impressive nature of Corniche’s first season. His potential was so obvious when he breezed a furlong in :10 flat at the Ocala Breeders’ sale in April that his price soared to a sale-topping $1,500,000 . Corniche was to repay most of that outlay in winning his three two-year-old starts, starting with an easy win over 5½ furlongs at Del Mar in September. Less than four weeks later Corniche had earned Gr.1-winner status, with a dominant display in the American Pharoah Stakes. Drawn 11 of 11 in the Gr.1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile, Corniche 12

was fast enough to clear the field by the first turn and he maintained his speed to remain unbeaten. Although Corniche excelled on dirt, he has a pedigree which should allow him to sire smart winners on all surfaces. Twenty of his dam Wasted Tears’ 22 starts were on turf, on which she won 12 times, including five times at Graded Stakes level. His sire Quality Road did even better. Out of the first two only twice in a 13-race career, Quality Road was versatile enough to set a track record over 6½ furlongs and two more over a mile and an eighth. He has done so well, with 15 Gr.1 winners in his early crops, that he is now one of Kentucky’s most in-demand stallions. Bearing in mind that recent winners of the Eclipse Award for 2-year-old male include Uncle Mo, American Pharoah, Nyquist and Good Magic, Corniche can be expected to pass on his considerable ability. His pedigree allows him endless options. For example, his pedigree is free of such as A.P. INDY , TAPIT , CANDY RIDE , SMART STRIKE , CURLIN , DANZIG , WAR FRONT , STORM CAT , GIANT’S CAUSEWAY , MEDAGLIA D'ORO , INDIAN CHARLIE , AWESOME AGAIN and DISTORTED HUMOR , and he has only one line of MR PROSPECTOR , who will be in the fifth generation of his foals’ pedigrees. His sire Quality Road has enjoyed marked success with STORM CAT blood, siring Graded winners from daughters of STORM CAT , HENNESSY (3), TABASCO CAT , GIANT’S CAUSEWAY and SCAT DADDY . He has also thrived with daughters of DIXIE UNION , broodmare sire of three of his Gr.1 winners, including KLIMT . Quality Road has Gr.1 winners out of grand-daughters of A.P. INDY , including two out of mares by BERNARDINI and another out of a MALIBU MOON mare. DEPUTY MINISTER mares had two Gr.1 winners, including champion Abel Tasman, among their small number of foals by Quality Road, who also sired the top-class City of Light from a mare by Deputy Minister’s son DEHERE . Quality Road also owes two of his Gr.1 winners to grand-daughters of DANZIG , with Bleecker Street having a dam by EXCHANGE RATE and Illuminant being out of a POLISH NUMBERS mare. The SADLER’S WELLS line must also be considered for Corniche. Quality Road’s 2023 Preakness Stakes winner National Treasure has a dam by MEDAGLIA D’ORO , and Quality Road’s first 13 starters out of mares by GALILEO include two Graded/Group winners. ❝ He's physically

MATING SUGGESTIONS: As many as five sons of Speightstown, including the consistently progressive Munnings, have sired northern hemisphere Gr.1 winners so the omens look good for Echo Town, who became a Gr.1 winner when he decisively landed the H. Allen Jerkens Stakes at Saratoga. That victory was the fourth of Echo Town’s career and he was also second in the Gr.1 Woody Stephens Stakes. Echo Town is one of several Graded winners by Speightstown with inbreeding to Storm Cat. Speightstown is out of a daughter of Storm Cat and Echo Town’s second line comes via his Gr.2-winning dam Letgomyecho, who is by a son of Harlan, sire of the very successful Harlan’s Holiday and grandsire of Champion Sire Into Mischief. Letgomyecho has a second Gr.1 winner to her credit in 2021’s Champion 2YO filly Echo Zulu (by Gun Runner). As a leading winner over seven furlongs, Echo Town has a similar profile to Munnings, Speightstown’s most successful stallion son. Echo Town’s female line has produced stakes winners to two sons of A.P. INDY , so it is very relevant that Munnings has sired the Gr.2 winners Finite and Bonny South from daughters of TAPIT , as well as a Gr.3 winner from an A.P. INDY mare. His statistics stand at 14% SWs from TAPIT mares and 25% from A.P. INDY mares. Munnings also has 43% SWs among his seven foals out of mares by A.P. INDY’s son FLATTER and his five starters out of mares by BERNARDINI include Gr.2 winner Scaramouche. MR PROSPECTOR will be back in the fourth generation of Echo Town’s foals. This allows plenty of options for mares with Mr Prospector blood, as Speightstown has several good performers inbred either 3x3 or 3x4 to MR PROSPECTOR , including Travers Stakes winner Golden Ticket, Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile winner Tamarkuz, dual Gr.1 winner Charlatan, Jockey Club Gold Cup winner Olympiad and Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf winner Sharing. Munnings has the Gr.2 winner Venetian Harbor out of a daughter of STREET CRY , while the very talented Jack Christopher is out of a grand-daughter of UNBRIDLED’S SONG and 2YO Gr.1 winner EDA has a dam by LEMON DROP KID . Speightstown has Graded winners out of daughters of STORMY ATLANTIC , GIANT’S CAUSEWAY and CATIENUS which are inbred 3x3 to STORM CAT . Munnings sired his first Gr.1 winner, I’m A Chatterbox, from a grand-daughter of DANZIG and the Gr.3 winner Munny Spunt is from a HARD SPUN mare. Mares from the DANZIG male line should also suit Echo Town. Speightstown sired the Gr.1 winners Jersey Town and Seek Again from mares by BELONG TO ME and DANEHILL . Munnings has a Gr.2 winner with a dam by EL PRADO and he also has four black-type winners with mares by MEDAGLIA D’ORO , who also sired the dam of Speightstown’s 2023 2YO Gr.1 winner Prince of Monaco. Altogether Speightstown has 6% Gr.1 winners among his foals out of MEDAGLIA D’ORO mares. Speightstown sired the Travers Stakes winner Golden Ticket from a DEPUTY MINISTER mare and Munnings has Stakes winners with mares by SALT LAKE and SILVER DEPUTY . BLUSHING GROOM sired the second dams of Speightstown’s Gr.1 winners Seek Again and Lord Shanakill, and Speightstown also has Stakes winners out of daughters of RAHY , MT LIVERMORE , RAINBOW QUEST and PEAKS AND VALLEYS . Speightstown has two Stakes winners out of INDIAN CHARLIE mares, including the speedy Gr.1 winner Switzerland. Daughters of UNCLE MO should therefore suit Echo Town.

❝ with a furlong remaining he roared into contention under jockey Ricardo Santana. Gobbling up ground like he’d just joined the race, Echo Town drew clear strongly down the lane to score by 3½ lengths ❞ Brisnet.com after his dominant win in the Grade 1 H. Allen Jerkens Stakes

MATING SUGGESTIONS: During his career at Ashford Stud, Giant’s Causeway topped the Blood-Horse’s General Sires list three times and rarely finished outside the top four. In the process he was represented by more than 30 northern hemisphere Gr.1 winners and roughly 100 Graded/Group winners. Many of his sons have gone on to sire Gr.1 winners, with Shamardal founding a flourishing dynasty in Europe. Now Giant’s Causeway has another son – the top-class 2YO Not This Time – who promises to do the same in North America. Although all of his first four crops of racing age were sired at only $15,000 or $12,500, Not This Time is already responsible for the highly impressive total of 30 SWs, including five winners at Gr.1 level. He has been North America’s leading second-crop and third-crop sire and is heading for the fourth-crop sire title in 2023. At the early age of eight, he became a top-ten sire in 2022 and he is again a top-ten sire in 2023. 20

Not This Time’s rise to the top has been spearheaded by his top-class son Epicenter. Injured in the last of his 11 starts, this very consistent colt had previously built a record of six wins and three seconds, his only unplaced effort coming on his debut. An impressive winner of the Gun Runner Stakes at two, Epicenter earned the Eclipse Award for Champion 3-Year-Old male with his victories in the Gr.2 Risen Star S., Gr.2 Louisiana Derby, Gr.2 Jim Dandy S. and Gr.1 Travers S. He was also a fine second in the Gr.1 Kentucky Derby and Gr.1 Preakness S. Epicenter is by Not This Time out of a Candy Ride mare as is Simplification, winner of the Gr.2 Fountain of Youth S. and fourth in the Gr.1 Kentucky Derby. They are among Not This Time’s six winners from seven runners out of daughters of Candy Ride. This is significant, because the sensational young stallion Gun Runner is very similarly bred, being by Candy Ride and out of a Giant’s Causeway mare. Not This Time already has Stakes winners out of daughters of A.P. INDY , PULPIT (the Gr.1 winner Sibelius), MINESHAFT , FRIENDS LAKE and TAPIT . The Gr.3 winner Arzak is one of Not This Time’s six runners out of TAPIT mares. Significantly, Gun Runner is another who is enjoying success with mares by PULPIT and TAPIT . Gun Runner’s six Stakes winners out of TAPIT mares include Gr.1 winner Society, Gr.2 winner Wicked Halo and Gr.3 winners Disarm, Il Miracolo and Red Route One. Gun Runner’s Gr.1-winning son Gunite has a 2nd dam by PULPIT . Gun Runner’s first starter out of a mare by A.P. INDY’s son FLATTER is the triple Gr.1 winner Taiba. Epicenter is also well worth trying with mares by MALIBU MOON , another stallion who combined A.P. Indy and Mr Prospector blood. Not This Time has Gr.1 winners out of mares by AWESOME AGAIN’s sons GHOSTZAPPER and WILKO , as well as a Gr.2 winner out of an AWESOME AGAIN mare. This suggests mares with DEPUTY MINISTER blood. Mares by SPEIGHTSTOWN and MUNNINGS should be ideal for Epicenter, as Not This Time’s Gr.1 winner Just One Time has a dam by SPEIGHTSTOWN . He also has a Gr.3 winner out of a SMART STRIKE mare and is showing promise with daughters of CURLIN . EMPIRE MAKER and his son PIONEEROF THE NILE figure among the broodmare sires of Not This Time’s Stakes winners, as do Street Cry’s sons STREET SENSE and STREET HERO . EL PRADO’s sons MEDAGLIA D’ORO and PADDY O’PRADO also rank among the broodmare sires of Not This Time’s Stakes winners. Not This Time has Gr.2 and Gr.3 winners with 2nd dams by SAINT BALLADO , and also has a Gr.3 winner by a son of SAINT BALLADO .

It’s fitting that Epicenter won the race named in Gun Runner’s honor because his pedigree is a mirror image of that 2017 Horse of the Year.

MATING SUGGESTIONS: The quick-maturing Golden Pal proved virtually unbeatable in his home country, recording eight straight victories at the ages of two, three and four. In establishing himself as arguably America’s finest turf sprinter, the explosive son of Uncle Mo wired the field in both the Gr.2 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint at Keeneland and the Gr.1 Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint at Del Mar. The dual Breeders’ Cup winner also landed the Gr.3 Quick Call Stakes at Saratoga, two editions of the Gr.2 Woodford Stakes at Keeneland, the Gr.2 Shakertown Stakes at Keeneland and the Gr.3 Troy Stakes at Saratoga. Golden Pal’s dam Lady Shipman won 13 times and set a course record of 1:00.46 for Saratoga’s 5½-furlong turf course. Golden Pal’s broodmare sire Midshipman won the Gr.1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile, as did his sire Uncle Mo, so Golden Pal looks certain to pass on his speed and precocity. Golden Pal shares the same sire, Uncle Mo, as Nyquist, Laoban and Outwork, all of them Gr.1 sires with their early crops. Although Golden Pal and his dam Lady Shipman excelled on turf, there are numerous top-class dirt performers in his pedigree, with all four of his grandparents having won on the main track. Golden Pal should do well with mares by all the successful stallions from the A.P. Indy-Mr Prospector cross, such as PULPIT , MINESHAFT , FLATTER and CONGRATS . Daughters of TAPIT are worth considering as Uncle Mo sired Gr.2 winner Kingsbarns from one. Uncle Mo’s Gr.1 winners such as Yaupon, Mo Donegal, Arabian Knight and Mo Town all have dams by sons of A.P. INDY . BERNARDINI mares are responsible for Gr.2 winners Mopotism and Modernist. Uncle Mo has Gr.2 and Gr.3 winners out of mares by A.P. INDY’s sons MALIBU MOON and MINESHAFT . Uncle Mo’s son Nyquist owes two of his Gr.1 winners to grand-daughters of A.P. Indy, by BERNARDINI and MINESHAFT . Outwork, another son of Uncle Mo, owes his 2023 2YO Gr.1 winner Brightwork to a MALIBU MOON mare. A third son, Laoban, sired a Gr.2 winner from an A.P. INDY mare. Uncle Mo thrives with mares from the MR PROSPECTOR line and there is no reason why Golden Pal shouldn’t follow suit. The GONE WEST branch provided Uncle Mo with Gr.1 winner Gomo and Graded winners Laoban and Souper Hoity Toity. Uncle Mo’s son Nyquist owes his Gr.1 winner Slow Down Andy to a grand-daughter of SMART STRIKE . Mo Town, another of Uncle Mo’s sons, sired a Gr.3 winner from a SMART STRIKE mare and a Listed winner from a CURLIN mare. Another of Nyquist’s Gr.1 winners, Randomized, has a dam by ELUSIVE QUALITY . UNBRIDLED is the broodmare sire of Gr.1 winner Unbridled Mo, while his sons EMPIRE MAKER , UNBRIDLED’S SONG and UNTUTTABLE all rank among the broodmare sires of Uncle Mo’s Graded winners. Gr.1 winner Outwork has an EMPIRE MAKER dam, while 2023 Gr.1 winner A Mo Reay has a dam by PIONEEROF THE NILE . Uncle Mo quickly proved himself with the STORM CAT line, siring the top-class Nyquist and Gr.3 winner Auntie Joy from daughters of FORESTRY (also sire of the 2nd dam of Gr.1 winner Arabian Knight). STORM CAT , GIANT’S CAUSEWAY , BLUEGRASS CAT and TALE OF THE CAT are all among the broodmare sires of Uncle Mo’s Graded winners. There are also Graded winners out of mares by three sons of GIANT’S CAUSEWAY , namely GIANT GIZMO , SHAMARDAL and ESKENDEREYA . In view of Golden Pal’s success on turf, the SADLER’S WELLS line is another likeable option. Uncle Mo has Gr.1 and Gr.2 winners from mares by DIXIELAND BAND , by NUREYEV’s son UNUSUAL HEAT and by DANZIG’s son WAR FRONT . Uncle Mo’s son Laoban sired Gr.1 winner Simply Ravishing from a MORE THAN READY mare. Uncle Mo has Stakes winners with mares by DEPUTY MINISTER , FRENCH DEPUTY and DEFRERE .

Breaking like shot out of a cannon, Golden Pal (Uncle Mo) marked his return to Breeders' Cup competition following a win in 2020 to double up with a score in the GI Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint. TDN
